Most top players have grown up practicing against a wall at some stage. A wall is great for repetition, building reflexes, consistency, accuracy, footwork and more. When I was younger, I used to practice my volleys with a sponge tennis ball in my living room, (due to a pebble dash exterior wall on my house!). After I joined a tennis club aged 9, I regularly hit groundstrokes and other shots against their practice wall.
A big thank you to Elm Park Golf & Sports Club for recently painting the large practice wall on Court 1, it looks fantastic. I look forward to hitting against it and using it for videos once lockdown ends.
