I had the pleasure of coaching Kaano Imai, a young tennis player from Japan with a unique game — she plays with a two-handed forehand and backhand. In this session from the vault — one worth a second look — we focused on refining her serve, ensuring she maintains proper body positioning, balance, and fluid motion to maximize power and precision.
We also focused on drills to improve shot placement, control, and using spin effectively to dominate rallies.
Kaano’s ability to make quick technical adjustments is truly impressive. She sees the ball early, prepares quickly when needed, and takes the ball early — all while covering the court exceptionally well. The future is bright with players like her.
