Pushing Limits. Building Memories.
Naomi Osaka is leaving everything on the court. In this training drill, she has to cover the entire court while her partner plays with full freedom on the half of the court. No shortcuts. No breaks. Just pure effort.
When you push your body and mind to the limit, you create something invaluable: memory.
What is amazing in our sport is that we receive in proportions to what we give. It means that what you are able to provide, to bring to the table at practice will come back to you in terms of rewards in matches. The body as well as the mind have memories. Practicing means repeating what you want to produce physically, technically and mentally with focus, with purpose, with intention builds the right memory.
I love the idea that βpractice makes perfectβ but the truth is rather that practice makes permanent. This means that the habits you create, good and bad, will return to you integrally.
When I say that tennis is life, what I just explained is also true in any area. Think about it: whatever you give in life will return to you one way or another.
