Lan Mi has one of the most unorthodox techniques you’ll see.
She hits the ball extremely close to her body, with very little distance between her hand and the racket, which normally makes it much harder to generate pace and spin. But she compensates with something very important: full commitment of the body through the ball.

Would I teach this technique? No. But there is still a lesson to take from it. Don’t copy the technique, understand what makes it work. 🎾
