Eye of the coach: “It’s more difficult for Alcaraz to be dominant indoors than outdoors”
For many years now Iām sharing my point of view on international tennis for tennismajors.com. Now Iām happy to share also this analysis with you on my YouTube channel.
Today, Iām talking about the reasons why Carlos Alcaraz’s natural dominant game is tempered when heās playing indoors. I think that the Spaniard is better at dealing with tricky outside conditions than most other players.
The quality of Alcarazās athleticism, power and feel mean he feels comfortable outdoors. Being indoors takes away that particular asset that he benefits from when heās outside.
But I think there is no objective reason for Alcaraz not to play great tennis indoors. The indoor season is very short, so he needs to get used to that surface more than other players.
